Club Builds Message Board Kiosk
in Whites Road Park
in Whites Road Park
Super excited to announce it's "Almost finished!" Just needs some dedication signs (soon to arrive!) Our Rotary Club of North Penn will be officially dedicating this beautifully constructed gift in Whites Road Park to Lansdale Borough in commemoration of our Club's 100th anniversary this year. We expect the official dedication to take place in October (near, or close to our Club's 100th Anniversary Gala!) Over 140 VOLUNTEER hours have been put into constructing this sleek, modern "Message Board Kiosk", with most hours and carpentry expertise by our very own Rotarian John Geers. We can't thank you enough, John, for your "Service Above Self"!
We also sincerely thank the Borough of Lansdale, and especially the Parks & Recs department for their complete support of this project as well as providing the concrete base.
The kiosk - standing 8' tall and 4' square - has four sides, each containing a state-of-the-art enclosed message board; each enclosure will be used by dedicated groups including the Borough of Lansdale, Lansdale Parks & Recreation department, Discover Lansdale and of course, our Rotary Club of North Penn; who will all use the boards to post upcoming events, information, and services offered to the great North Penn Community; and those visiting the area, too!
When the date is set for the official dedication, we will certainly announce that on our Facebook page & website. In the interim, feel free to stop by Whites Road Park and take a look at this beauty for yourself - located along the pathway to the Centennial Band Shell (also built by the Rotary Club of North Penn in collaboration with the Borough back in 2005-2007) The Band Shell was built to commemorate Rotary International's 100th Anniversary
