JULY 2025

The new Rotary Year has begun and our Club members are excited for the year ahead.  At our July 8th meeting, we thanked our outgoing Club President, Will Liegel, for his leadership and faithful "Service Above Self" for the past two years! Under Will's excellent leadership, we continued to be a strong club, caring deeply for the community we serve. Without a single hesitation, Will stepped up in July 2023 to take over as club president when the original Rotarian to fill that role was unable to continue due to serious health issues.  Will's desire and true dedication to serve others was exemplified during his two-year term as our Club President and we are grateful beyond words for his true Service Above Self.  Will continues to be an very important part of our club now a 'past president', and will serve on our Board of Directors for at least one more year, providing his usual sound advice and intellectual input.
On our first meeting of the new Rotary Year, we also 'passed the gavel' and officially inducted our incoming Club President, John Geers.  John has been a Rotarian for more than 40 years, following in his father's footsteps in the Norristown Rotary Club.  After retirement, John transferred his Rotary membership to North Penn.  John and his significant other, Connie Horton, are long-time residents of Lansdale.  John brings decades of Rotary experience to our North Penn Club.  Both he and Connie enjoy the great outdoors and often take fishing trip excursions that include trips to Canada!  John is a master woodcraft artisan - much of his work can been seen on his personal Facebook page under "John's Woodshop".  John was the most instrumental part of our club's construction of the beautiful message board kiosk built last year for our club's 100th anniversary, and now resides permanently in Whites Road Park in Lansdale. The gavel John is holding in the below picture is one that he handcrafted, and is used to ring our Rotary bell at every meeting!  John will be serving as our Club President for two consecutive years through June 30th, 2027, and we look forward to his leadership and direction over this time period. Thank you, John, for your dedication and service to Rotary and to our community
